New Club News
If you have any questions regarding club meetings or our annual show, please contact us.
Club Meetings: The club is back to meeting on schedule! Come on down!
This will be our find of the month meeting, so please bring in your finds (since our August FOM meeting) and share them with other club members.
We will also be discussing our club hunt which right now is scheduled for September 26th (we have a rain date of October 3rd). As a reminder, to be able to participate in the hunt you must have done the following:
- Your dues for this year paid before the hunt
- Attended a club meeting this year
- Signed up for the hunt at a meeting - You cannot sign up at the hunt as we need to have an accurate count of people attending the hunt. This is to ensure we have sufficient prizes for all and to enable us to get enough food for the barbecue (which will be held after the hunt).
if you have not already done so, please pay your club dues ($10 per person) at the upcoming meeting. You need to have your dues paid for the year to participate in upcoming club functions (such as the club hunt and the Christmas Party). If your dues have not been paid, and you do not plan on rejoining the club this year, please let me know and I will take your name off the club's mailing list.
Since we are still under orders from the Governor in regard to the COVID situation we ask that all who attend observe the guidelines that have been put in place including maintaining social distances of 6 feet apart (especially when looking at finds or in buying raffle tickets) and wearing facial masks. The gym will allow us to spread out more so this will help with the social distancing.
Please keep in mind that we have a number of elderly members and that you consider wearing a mask if at all possible for their safety.
We will bring a bottle of hand sanitizer to the meeting so folks can use it whenever they touch something.
Again, if you are not feeling well or if you have been around someone who has the virus (thus exposing you) please remain home so as to not possibly spread the virus to others in the club. Remember, we have a number of individuals who are considered in the "high-risk" category so please be considerate of them.
Contact an officer or send an email (The "Contact Us" link on the left) if you have any questions.
Passing of Jim Watson: It is with great sadness that the family of James Alan Watson announces his passing from congestive heart failure on Monday, July 27, 2020, at the age of 65. He was known as Santa to many of us. Jimmy, as he was known to friends, was a "jack of all trades" who enjoyed playing chess, taking and developing his own photos, cooking for his family, training as a locksmith, metal detecting, dressing as Santa for children and the elderly, and woodworking in his later years. Memorial donations in memory of James may be made to Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 87 Lacy Street NW, Marietta, GA 30060.
Jim Scarr Loss: It hurts very much to pass on the terrible news regarding the son of long time NGRHA club member Jim Scarr. On Tuesday night, 7/28/2020, his son Daniel who lives in Atlanta was found deceased. Please keep Jim in your thoughts as you can imagine this is a hard time for the family.
FROM THE CLUB PRESIDENT: Regarding club dues, if you have not paid your 2020 dues please let me know if you still plan on rejoining the club once the health situation improves and we are able to hold meetings; or if you are not planning on rejoining the club this year.
Action: Please like us on Facebook or see our club's website (both are North Georgia Relics Hunters Association)
